Ways2TravelRegina erhielt zum Abschied aus Deutschland von Ihre Kollegen ein ganz besonderes Abschiedsgeschenk, von welchem auch Christian profitieren sollte: einen Gutschein für eine Restaurant-Tour durch die Stadt. Und nachdem sich ja auch Regina langsam auf den Pfad der Tugend begibt, was Chris‘ Vorlieben für alle Köstlichkeiten dieser Welt angeht, hat sie selbstverständlich auch das Thema der Tour ausgesucht. So sollte es also für Chris eine Überraschung werden 🙂
Wir haben unsere super nette Tourguide Lisa dann um 10:45 in der Innenstadt getroffen, und dort wurde auch klar, dass wir an der „Weltbesten Food Truck“ Tour teilnehmen würden. Mit einer Gruppe von 13 anderen Genussmenschen starteten wir direkt bei Japadog, einem japnischen Hot-Dog Truck, wo wir bereits einen Vorgeschmack bekamen auf das, was da noch kommen sollte. Den Kurobuta Terimayo muss man einfach probiert haben, die Verbindung aus einem Hot Dog und asiatischen Gewürzen mit einer einzigartigen Sauce!
Der nächste Stop war Mom’s Grilled Cheese Truck, wo Cindy nicht nur gegrillten Käse in super leckeren Sandwiches und haugemachte Pommes serviert, sondern auch eigens kreierte Limonade! Lecker! So satt wir schon waren, es ging weiter bei Tacofino, einem der wohl bekanntesten Food Trucks in Vancouver. Wir bekamen Fisch Tacos UND einen „Chocolate Diablo Cookie“ als Nachtisch – der übrigens genau so diabolisch scharf ist, wie er heißt! Zum Glück sind wir dann zum nächsten und letzten Halt etwas länger gelaufen, um ein wenig verdauen zu können. Bei LeTigre hatten wir dann unsere letzte Mahlzeit, mit blitz-frittiertem Gemüse und genial zubereitetem Hühnchen.
Endgültig pappsatt, war Lisa dann immer noch für uns da, gab Empfehlungen für Restaurants, Bars, Snacks und natürlich Sehenswürdigkeiten. Sie hatte einfach alles auf Lager, und Ihre nette Betreuung hat die Tour zu etwas ganz besonderem gemacht! Wir fanden es total genial und können die Vancouver Foodie Tours nur wärmstens empfehlen, vor allem die Food Truck tour.

When Regina left her job back home, her colleagues made a great gift, that also Christian should benefit from: a voucher for one of Vancouver’s foodie tours! Yeah, food! Since Regina is slightly adapting to the very broad range of food Christian is addicted to, she got to chose the tour that we were about to take. So it actually became a surprise for Chris 🙂
We met our lovely host Lisa at 10:45am downtown and obviously, it became clear that we’re attending what is described as world’s best food truck tour! With a group of about 13 other food lovers, we started directly at Japadog, a Japanese influenced food truck which gave us already a good hint of what was about to come. Tasting the Kurobuta Terimayo is a must when you love the fusion of a hot dog combined with the rich flavors of an awesome sauce!
Next stop was Mom’s Grilled Cheese Truck, where Cindy is selling not only awesome grilled cheese sandwiches with home made chips, but also crafted lemonade! Yum! Already quite filled, we went on to Tacofino, probably one of the most famous food trucks in Vancouver. We had the Fish Taco PLUS a Chocolate Diablo Cookie as dessert – it is as diabolic as the name says! After a little more of a walk to have the meals settled, we got to our last stop, the LeTigre, finally having our last dish of the day featuring some flash-fried spicy vegetable and some awesomely prepared chicken!
Fully stuffed up, Lisa was still with us for a while to give recommendations for all kinds of restaurants, bars, snacks and sightseeing. She has been a super knowledgeable and friendly guide who really made this one a special experience! We loved it and can only recommend Vancouver Foodie Tours and especially the food truck tour! It’s amazing!
