Ways2TravelChristian hatte ja Las Vegas schon auf einer Geschäftsreise im Februar gesehen. Und da wir zumindest mal eine kleine Unterbrechung vom regnerischen und kalten Herbst in Vancouver brauchten, haben wir uns kurzerhand eine kleine Flucht nach „Sin City“ gebucht! Die Flüge nach Vegas waren von Vancouver aus verhältnismäßig günstig, was man von den Hotels nicht zwingend behaupten kann. Zumindest nicht, wenn man in der Nähe oder sogar auf dem Strip bleiben möchte. Wobei wohl günstig auch als Relativ anzusehen ist. Schlussendlich haben wir uns ein Zimmer im Linq gebucht, und Chris hat trotz allem noch mal seinen Geschäftskontakt gefragt, ob es nicht irgendein Paket gibt, was man uns günstig anbieten könnte. Wir hatten wirklich keine Erwartung, aber als dann die eMail kam, dass wir von der Caesars Group EINGELADEN würden, 2 Nächte kostenfrei im Caesars Palace zu bleiben UND auch noch eine kostenlose SPA Behandlung bekommen würden, waren wir endgültig aus dem Häuschen!
Mittwoch Abend haben wir dann die Taschen gepackt, denn unser Hinflug über San Francisco sollte Vancouver am Donnerstag um 6 Uhr morgens verlassen. Die Wettervorhersage war traumhaft, und als wir dann auch noch das US Einreiseprozedere mal wieder hinter uns gebracht hatten (JA in der Tat, man braucht ein ESTA, um auf dem Luftweg einzureisen, egal was der Grenzbeamte einem sagt…), waren wir auch unterwegs! Was Regina nicht wusste: Chris hatte standesgemäß eine Abholung per Limousine und kühlem Champagner organisiert, also wartete der Fahrer zu Ihrer Überraschung bereits am Ausgang des Flughafens 😀
Als wir dann am Hotel ankamen, war die nächste Überraschung, diesmal für uns beide, auch nur noch Minuten entfernt: man hatte uns tatsächlich in eine Premium Suite im Augustus Tower eingebucht. Wohnzimmer, Schlafzimmer und ein riesiges Bad auf über 100 Quadratmetern sollten für die kommenden 3 Tage unser Reich sein! Wahnsinn, wir konnten es kaum glauben, und was macht man da? Wie ein kleines Kind auf dem Bett hin und her springen, bevor wir uns erstmal den privaten whirlpool gefüllt haben!
Aber ok, wir wollten ja auch etwas von der Stadt sehen, also haben wir ein Nickerchen gemacht – das frühe Aufstehen um halb drei nachts hatte uns dann doch etwas zugesetzt – bevor wir auf den Strip raus sind und erst mal alles genossen haben. Ein schönes Abendessen, die Lichter der Stadt, und natürlich die Wasserfontänen des Bellagio! Warm genug für T-Shirt und kurze Hose haben wir die Wärme noch ein wenig genossen, bevor wir erschöpft ins Bett fielen.
Am nächsten Tag haben wir dann das SPA Angebot probiert und uns für das Hawaiianische Lomi Lomi Ritual für Paare entschieden. Es lässt sich wirklich nicht mit Worten beschreiben, wie genial diese 80 Minuten Massage, Stretching und Wärme wirklich waren, der pure Luxus, von einfach perfekten Masseuren mal ganz abgesehen! Wir hätten ewig im SPA bleiben könne, eine riesige Oase der Entspannung, mit Sauna, Pool und allen nur vorstellbaren Annehmlichkeiten. Schlussendlich mussten wir aber doch los, wollten noch etwas zu Abend essen und uns dann für die Nacht fertig machen. Also gingen wir zur Cheesecake Factory (nein es gibt nicht nur Käsekuchen :)) zum Dinner und dann zurück zum Hotel. Immerhin hatten wir am Abend Tickets für die „O“ Show des Cirque du Soleil. Und die ist wirklich der Hammer. Vergleichbar mit „KA“, welche Chris bereits im Februar gesehen hatte, macht es die Wasser-Akrobatik noch mal ein wenig spannender. Definitiv 90 Minuten Artistik der Superlative, von den Weltbesten Akrobaten. Wir waren sprachlos! Wenn man mal nach Vegas kommt, ist es mit Sicherheit wert, eines der nicht ganz günstigen Tickets zu besorgen, es lohnt sich in jedem Fall!
Anschließend haben wir dann den Abend in der Alto Bar fortgesetzt und uns ein paar Drinks genehmigt, bevor wir dann zum Omnia Nachtclub zum Feiern sind. Endlich mal wieder ein wenig Elektro in einem der großen Clubs von Vegas, tut auch mal gut. Und natürlich haben wir uns ein kleines Limit gesetzt, um – und auch das muss man natürlich in Vegas gemacht haben – eine kleine Runde zu spielen. Regina war durchaus von den Casinos fasziniert, also haben wir uns mit maximal 50 Dollar an den Tisch gesetzt und eine Runde Black Jack gespielt. Dann hatte Regina auch noch das entsprechende Glück, und mit verdoppeltem Einsatz verließen wir den Tisch und haben uns zum Ausklang der Nacht noch einen Cocktail gegönnt! Was für ein Tag, wir hatten super viel Spaß!
Unser Flug am Samstag ging erst gegen 21:30, also Zeit genug den ganzen Tag noch in Vegas zu verbringen. Wir haben uns kurzerhand ein Auto gemietet und sind nach Red Rock Canyon raus gefahren, nur 30 Minuten von der Stadt entfernt. In dieser wunderschönen und bizarren Gegend haben wir dann eine kleine Wanderung gemacht und uns den Scenic Drive angeschaut, von wo aus man einen Blick bis nach Vegas hat! Anschließend gings zurück zur Stadt, um uns dann auf den Heimweg zu begeben.
Um 19:30 wurden wir dann wieder vom Fahrer mit der Limo abgeholt, ein letztes mal Vegas-Luxus auf dem Weg zum Airport. Immer noch total begeistert von der Stadt und den wundervollen 3 Tagen kamen wir gegen ein Uhr nachts zu Hause an, müde aber total glücklich, mal wieder einen solch tollen Mini-Urlaub gehabt zu haben! Der größte Dank gilt dem Mann, der die Fäden für uns gezogen hat, das war definitiv weit über unseren Erwartungen! Vegas ist definitiv fabelhaft!

So Christian had seen Las Vegas during his business trip in February this year! And since we thought that there needed to be at least a little escape from the cold in between the fall, we decided to book us a little weekend getaway to „Sin City“! While flights to Vegas at an affordable price were relatively easy to find, it is a bit of a challenge considering the hotel options. Of course, staying somewhere on the Strip would be preferred, but prices go up the closer you get. At the end of the day, we booked ourselves a room at the Linq, a new property owned by the Caesars Group, and anyways, Christian decided to ask his business contact at Caesars if there would be any chance for a special discount considering the relationship. We really had no expectations, but when we got the message that we were actually INVITED to stay at Caesars Palace PLUS getting access to a complimentary Spa treatment, we were thrilled about that amazing offer!
We packed on a Wednesday night, our plane ready to leave on 6am the Thursday morning, on a flight via San Francisco. The weather forecast was beautiful, and after managing the last hurdles of US Immigration (yes, you do need an ESTA to enter the country by plane – despite what officials tell you!), we were on our way! What Regina didn’t know, Chris had organized a little „Vegas-like“ stretch limousine transfer to the Caesars, with our driver and a chilled bottle of sparkling waiting at the exit of the Airport 😀
Arriving at the Vegas, the next surprise was only minutes away: we were actually booked in one of their suites in the Augustus Tower, with living room, bedroom and a massive bathroom making an unbelievable 100+ square meters our own for the next 3 days! We couldn’t believe it, and as you’d always wanted as a kid, jumped on the massive queen bed before filling the private jacuzzi!
But hey, we wanted to see the city, so we had a little nap in the afternoon – the early morning get up at 2:30 am hit us at that moment – before heading out to walk up and down the strip, getting some dinner and enjoying the city lights, the vibe and the Bellagio fountains! Warm enough for shirt and shorts, we were soaking in that cozy warmth of the desert before getting to sleep!
For the next day, we had booked ourselves into the Qua Baths and Spa, decided on a couples Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage ritual. There’s actually no words to describe the awesomeness of these 80 minutes pure luxury treatment, with the therapists being beyond professional. We could have stayed forever in this huge area of relaxation, using the sauna, hot tub and all other amenities offered. Eventually, we had to leave, find some dinner and get ready for the night out! We made our way through the Forum Shops to the Cheesecake Factory for great food before returning to the hotel, getting dressed and heading to the Bellagio to see a performance of Cirque du Soleil’s „O“ show! This one is definitely incredible. Comparable to „KA“, which Chris saw in February, but adding the water component to it makes it even different! A pure 90 minute absolute superlative of artistic by the world’s best performers! We were speechless. If you’re heading to Vegas, make sure you get yourself a ticket to either of the shows, it’s worth the money and won’t be regret!
After that, we started our night out at Alto bar for some drinks before heading to Omnia Club for some edm spins by Cash Cash and some dancing! Finally some partying again in one of Las Vegas awesome clubs! And last but not least, we set ourselves a little limit to – OF COURSE – gamble in Caesars Casino! Actually it was Regina being fascinated by the games, and she made it. With as little as 50 dollars, we sat down at Black Jack, doubled the amount with a bit of luck and treated ourselves another drink at Alto for the night! What a day, truly amazing and so much fun!
On Saturday, we’ve had a late flight at 9:30pm, so we’ve had the whole day left in Vegas. We took the opportunity to rent a car for the day, heading out to Red Rock Canyon, which is just about 30 minutes from the Strip and offers such beautiful mountain ranges and hikes! We took our way on an easy hike before visiting the red rocks through the scenic drive and enjoying the warm and sunny day, offering views onto Vegas before heading back to the city!
At 7:30, the driver from Bell Limousines picked us up again, a last feeling of luxury before jumping on the plane back home! Still flashed by the city as such and the intensity of the last 3 days, we arrived back home at about 1am, totally happy to have had the pleasure of experiencing this great weekend! Big thanks go out the man pulling the strings for us, it has been simply beyond our imagination! Vegas is indeed fabulous!
